Ministry of Education staff will hold forums with Massey students and staff to discuss a draft document detailing the priorities that will help shape the future of education, from early childhood to tertiary and beyond. Sessions with staff and students have already been held at the Manawatū campus.

Shaping a Stronger Education System with New Zealanders sets out the draft priorities for early learning and schooling and for the Tertiary Education Strategy, which determines the Tertiary Education Commission’s investment process. Tertiary education organisations have to show how they will respond to these priorities, through their investment plans.

Ministry staff will be at the Wellington campus next Tuesday (October 15) at 1.30pm in the Tutorial Room 5C15 and at the Auckland campus on October 23 in the Atrium (AT1) at 10.30am to meet staff. Student forums will be on the same dates but at separate times.

Consultation on the Tertiary Education Strategy closes on October 25. Consultation on the National Education and Learning Priorities closes on November 25.

You may also have your say on the priorities through an online survey or submission. There are a range of resources outlining the TES and a survey in these pages;

  • Online Servey - - and/or a submission to the email address
  • Discussion document - Shaping a Stronger Education System with New Zealanders -
