Reena coordinates all the practical training for the MSc Nutrition and Dietetics programme and ensures that professional competencies are met in the three domains of dietetic practice in NZ - Applied Nutrition, Public Health Nutrition and Food Service Management. As a Senior Professional Clinician at Massey University, Reena's experience encompasses various specialist areas in hospital, rehabilitation and outpatient settings. She is therefore actively involved in the Nutrition and Dietetic Centre, providing advice for the nutritional management of many health conditions. She holds registration with the NZ Dietitians Board and is an endorsed Dietitian Prescriber. She also maintains Accredited Practising Dietitian status with the Dietitians Association of Australia. Reena enjoys working with people of all ages and backgrounds and has extensive experience in helping children, families and adults achieve their nutrition and lifestyle goals. Specialist areas include infant feeding, paediatric nutrition, fussy eating, feeding difficulties and food allergies/ intolerances.
Reena Soniassy-Unkovich leads the Professional Practice Paper within the MSc Nutrition and Dietetics programme. She also provides individual dietetic consultations and group sessions within the Nutrition and Dietetic Centre.
