Staff within the School of Veterinary Science at Massey University conduct research across a large number of species in a wide range of disciplines. As the first and only university in New Zealand to offer veterinary science, we have a long history of expertise in veterinary-related research.
We also train scientists, consultants and veterinarians through teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students, involvement in postgraduate research projects and providing professional development opportunities.
Massey undertakes research in the fields of veterinary sciences and public health.
The Massey Equine Research Centre undertakes scientific research into health and production problems that limit horse breeding, rearing and performance.
The School of Veterinary Science has ongoing research in a range of areas including dairy cattle nutrition, sheep production and animal welfare.
