As part of your study at Massey University you may have access to a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) to support you in your studies called Stream.
An increasing number of courses are integrating Stream with conventional learning resources to enrich the distance learning experience. You access Stream using standard internet browsers.
Stream is your online learning community. We want distance students to feel part of a real class and Stream allows you to share and exchange ideas with fellow students and the course coordinator. A large number of the courses now support online conversations using web-based discussion forums. Depending on the course, you can also access the latest news in your subject, study notes, recent journal articles, podcasts, online presentations, interactive exercises and activities, and tests and quizzes.
You are encouraged to make regular and focused use of these environments and other internet resources in your learning. Massey University is committed to providing an increasing number of online learning services.
The online component description for courses is your guide as to how Stream will be used in a course. The online component is displayed on the course details pages within the Programmes and courses web pages.
To find out what the components mean see online components definitions.
Some online resources are available at the beginning of the semester, whereas others may be introduced to you later in the semester. If you have any questions about the online component then you should contact the course coordinator.
For information about how to use Stream see the Guide to Stream web pages.
You should also take the time to review the online skills and computer requirements you may need to study at Massey University.
