Exam clash arrangements and instructions

When we schedule exams every attempt is made to ensure that there are no students with clashes. If this does occur, we will rearrange your timetable to accommodate the clash. Due to the large number of exams unfortunately this may mean you will sit two exams on the same day.

Exams with clashes will have asterisks next to them in your Personal Exam Timetable. Please note: The examination time, date and venue shown overrides all other published exam information. This includes information provided by course coordinators in Stream.

It is very important to check your Personal Exam Timetable carefully and report to the required room at the time stated.

The following exam conditions will be in place if you have an exam clash:

  1. Report to the venue/room at the time stated for the morning exam.
  2. You will remain in this room for the day. Please ensure you bring enough food and water for the day.
  3. During the lunch break you will be allowed to study for the afternoon exam. However, access to cell phones, PDA’s, smartphones, tablets (eg iPads) or laptops is not permitted. Any study material brought to the exams must be in hard copy.
  4. Communication with other students outside of the clash room during the lunch break will not be allowed.

If you withdraw from a course with an exam clash please advise Assessment Services (exams@massey.ac.nz) as soon as possible. This may result in a change to the remaining exam time and/or room. Your Personal Exam Timetable will be amended as a result of course withdrawal.

If you have any concerns regarding exam clash arrangements please contact Assessment Services.
