The Master of Health Science (Medical Laboratory Research) is designed for professional medical laboratory scientists with an Annual Practising Certificate, interested in scientific advancement within diagnostic laboratories, the New Zealand Blood Service or other health-related areas.

Through advanced studies in a specialised focus subject, the Master of Health Sciences offers students an opportunity to pursue research within the area of health sciences.
This programme is equivalent to one year of full-time study and combines course work and research. It is offered as a part-time qualification taught by distance that will take three or four years to complete.
