Entry requirements

There are no special requirements beyond those that qualify you to study at University. However, it is preferable that you have credit for NCEA Level 3 biology or science, chemistry, modelling and statistics, plus English and maths. These subjects will help ensure that your transition to university study is as smooth as possible.

  • In all cases, if English is not your first language and the admission requirements were not completed at an educational institution where English is the medium of instruction, you must ve achieved an IELTS of 6.5 with no band less than 6.0.

Bachelor of Agricultural Science (Without Specialisation) structure

At Massey a credit system is used for our degrees. To complete a Bachelor of Agricultural Science the following is required.

  • Total of 360 credits completed. That’s 24 courses of 15 credits each
  • A maximum of 165 credits at 100 level
  • A minimum of 75 credits must be from 300-level courses
  • 26 weeks of relevant practical work and two associated reports
