Te Rau Tauawhi – Māori Student Support

Te Rau Tauawhi staff have returned to campus to warm your whare and are ready and waiting for tauira māori (māori students) to visit. We understand that tauira are looking forward to returning to campus so feel free to pop in and see our staff and other familiar faces. We also welcome all tauira studying on or near Oteha/Albany to visit the Te Rau Tauawhi team in your new whare formerly The Wonder Room, Atrium Level 1.

Keeping safe

We should also endeavour to keep the foundation of our Whare Tapa Whā as strong as possible:

Taha Tinana

  • Protect the resilience of those in your whare.
  • Look after physical health and wellbeing.
  • Keep a 2-metre distance from others in public.

Taha Wairua

  • Stay positive.
  • Keep lifting the spirits of those with you.
  • Draw strength from our waiata, haka, karakia, kōrero and whakataukī.

Taha Hinengaro

  • Stay well informed.
  • Try to keep the mind at ease.
  • Apply the mātauranga that you have acquired to benefit others.

Taha Whānau

  • Stay in touch with loved ones who are elsewhere.
  • Look after those in your whare.
  • Draw inspiration from whakapapa.

If you need help during your time at Massey, we are here to help you. Nau mai, haere mai.
