The Academic Fellowship Scheme enables recipients to be released from their normal responsibilities to work on strategically prioritised teaching-related projects. The initiative allows staff to develop innovations in teaching and learning and contribute to pedagogical enhancements aligned with wider University priorities. Academic Fellows are prestigious positions as they recognise emerging leadership in the tradition of the scholarship of teaching and learning. They provide an opportunity for staff to develop a practical innovation in teaching drawing on the contemporary higher education literature and offer a valuable opportunity to influence University policy in a specific area. This year we strongly encourage applications in the following areas of strategic priority:
• Learning spaces
• First year experience
• Development of open courseware
• Online distance education for international students living overseas
Applications due: The deadline for applications is 19th November 2012. Please contact the Director of the National Centre for Teaching and Learning for further information about the Academic Fellowship Award.
