Connect provides the teacher with an online 'real-time' classroom to support students' learning. It allows you to talk with students through your microphone, listen to their responses and includes the ability to share a Powerpoint presentation and anything else on your computer screen. There is also a chat facility for back channel discussions between students and a suite of poll and quiz tools. When you first use Adobe Connect it is important to complete the Adobe Connect pre-flight check.
Adobe Presenter is a application that plugs into PowerPoint. It allows users to create and publish interactive multimedia presentations. It offers audio recording functionality and screen capture technology that you use to enhance existing or new presentations.
Adobe Acrobat Pro allows you to convert documents into PDFs, annotate PDFs and create interactive forms.
Adobe Captivate allows you to create online demonstrations and import PowerPoint slides and enrich them with multimedia, interactive elements and quizzes.
MyPortfolio is the University's online portfolio system. It is a free system open to students and staff that allows a user to add artefacts such as images, videos, audio and documents that learners and staff can use to demonstrate their learning, skills and development and record their achievements over time to a selected audience. For more information see the Myportfolio website.
SBLi provides the ability to include scenario based learning. Interactive scenarios are computer-based exercises which allow students to interact with a simulated real-world situation or series of events.
The Audience Response System called TopHat functions much like clickers but without the need to invest in actual clicker devices. TopHat can be accessed from any internet connected device and allows you to create questions that can be presented to students with the results being available in real time. To request free licences for this product please contact the Stream User Hotline.
