Colombo Hall

Colombo Hall is centrally located on the Manawatū campus. It has a large common room and spacious bedrooms. The hall is an alcohol-free zone. Hall residents are just a short walk from the Colombo Road bus stop.

  • Spacious, single occupancy rooms, with shared bathrooms (bathroom to resident ratio 1:6), for 66 residents.
  • Suitable for students aged 17 to 23 years.
  • Fully furnished. Residents can bring their own towels and bedding or purchase a bed-pack.
  • Two communal kitchenettes.
  • Large common room.
  • Less than a two minute walk to Concourse and Student Central.

All students can pay by semester or full year. Only domestic students can pay on a weekly basis by direct debit.

  • Residential Assistants support the Halls Management Team to create a fun, safe place to live and achieve academic success.

Fully or partially catered. Meals are served at the Dining Hall on Concourse. Residents can eat there or take meals away. Student ID cards will need to be presented to receive meals.


Wireless internet is available throughout the hall.

Computer lab

Access to a communal computer lab with a university-networked computer and printer in the common room.


Social spaces are heated and each bedroom has a heater.


Basic furniture is provided. Items that are not provided by the hall will need to be supplied by the residents. Each room comes with a king single bed.


A laundry is located in the hall with washing machines and dryers available for residents. Each laundry has 24-hour access.


Secure car parking is available on campus for $120 per semester. A $20 bond is required for the access card, which is refunded when the card is returned.

Free bike racks are located around the exterior of the hall. Limited spaces are available for rent in a secure bike shed. The cost is $25.00 ($20 bond and $5 maintenance fee).

Bus service

Students can travel for free on the local Palmerston North bus service. Students must present their Massey student ID.
