Massey University has partnerships with many high-quality intuitions around the world. This page highlights the opportunities to Massey students available at partner intuitions and unique events which may be of interest.


The JET Programme is a fully-paid overseas employment opportunity from the government of Japan that allows Kiwis to live and work in Japan for a year or more. Participants work either as Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs), or Coordinators for International Relations (CIRs). No teaching experience, Japanese language ability, or overseas experience is required to apply to the Programme, and there is no age restriction.

The JET Programme’s goal is cross-cultural exchange at a grassroots level, and as such, encourages New Zealanders from all walks of life and backgrounds to apply.  Applicants must:

  • Be a New Zealand Citizen
  • Currently hold (or WILL HOLD by late August 2020) a Bachelor’s Degree/Teaching Diploma

Doing Business in Brazil Short Course

The Latin America Centre of Asia-Pacific Excellence (LACAPE) is offering a funded short term programme at the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, from the 7th-15th December. 

The programme will see participants take six block courses and visit four Brazilian companies. There will be a case study competition where each team will present their idea to a panel of professors and company managers from the relevant industry. Students will be split into teams of 4 (2xNZ and 2xBrazil). The winning two teams will receive flights for their Brazilian teammates to come to NZ in 2020, where the top two teams will participate in a business accelerator programme to work on their idea.   Participants will receive: 

  • Return flights to Sao Paulo (including NZ domestic flights if required)
  • Accommodation
  • Course fees
  • Airport welcome and transfers
  • All in-market transport
  • All breakfasts
  • Welcome and farewell dinner
  • Cultural Activities
  • Around the clock programme support and translator

The eligibility requirements include:

  • Bachelor Degree students from year 2 onward
  • Preference given to students studying in the areas of International Business , International Trade , Commercialisation , or Entrepreneurship and innovation
  • Must have a valid passport and be available for programme dates
