Purpose
The Ormond Meat Marketing Scholarship encourages students to undertake a Bachelor of AgriCommerce that will prepare them for an agribusiness career within the meat industry.

Background
This scholarship is named after Sir John Ormond (1905 - 1995), a long-time chairman of the New Zealand Meat Producers Board.

Value and Tenure
The value of the scholarship is up to $2000 and the tenure is for a single academic year.
The scholarship is offered annually as funds permit.

One scholarship is typically offered each year.

Eligibility
Applicants must:
•be enrolled in the first year of a Bachelor of AgriCommerce at Massey University in the year of application
•be studying full time

Selection Criteria
The selection criterion is academic merit.
Preference will be given to applicants who can show within their application that they are sincere in following a career path into agribusiness and the meat industry.
The selection panel will also take account of other scholarships and bursaries held by the applicants in seeking an equitable distribution of funds

Selection Panel
The scholarship is awarded by the University Scholarships Committee on the recommendation of the Applied Academic Programmes Scholarships Committee, College of Sciences.
The University Scholarships Committee has the right to refrain from making an award if there are no suitable applicants and its decision is final.

Conditions of the Scholarship
The scholarship may be held in conjunction with other scholarships, bursaries or awards, so long as those scholarships, bursaries or awards permit co-tenure

Closing Date
3 March

Application cannot be accepted before 30/09/2020.
