Purpose
The Norwood Undergraduate Scholarship supports ambitious and enthusiastic students wishing to undertake a career in agriculture and horticulture.

Background
C B Norwood Distributors Ltd is one of New Zealand’s largest tractor and machinery distribution groups, bringing global farming technology to farmers and growers across the country.

Value and Tenure
The value of each scholarship is up to $5000.
The scholarship is offered annually and the tenure is for a single academic year.

Typical Number on Offer
Three new scholarships are typically offered each year.

Eligibility
Applicants must be undertaking a full-time undergraduate degree in agriculture or horticulture at Massey University, with preference given to students in their first year of study.

Selection Criteria
The selection criterion is academic merit.
Consideration will also be given to how the applicant hopes to contribute to the future of agriculture/horticulture in their future career as described in a 200-word statement.
The selection panel will also take account of other scholarships and bursaries held by the applicants in seeking an equitable distribution of funds

Selection Panel
The scholarship is awarded by representatives from C B Norwood Distributors Ltd on the recommendation of the Applied Academic Programmes Scholarships Committee

Conditions of the Scholarship
C B Norwood Distributors Ltd has the right to refrain from making an award if there are no suitable applicants and its decision is final.
Applications are also welcome from previous recipients who are continuing in their programme of study and have demonstrated good academic progress.

Closing date
3 March

Application cannot be accepted before 30/09/2020.
