The Rongotea Lions Club Student Assistance Fund provides financial assistance to deserving students undertaking a degree in agriculture, horticulture, agribusiness or veterinary science at Massey University

This fund was established by the Rongotea & District Lions Club.

Value and Tenure
The annual value of the grant is up to $2,000. The grant is awarded annually and the tenure is for a single academic year.

Applicants must be undertaking undergraduate or postgraduate degree study at Massey University in one of the following fields:
•veterinary science
Applicants should be from the Manawatū area, with preference given to those from Rongotea or surrounding areas.

Selection Criteria
Selection will be based on financial need. A statement on the applicant’s academic studies and academic background will also be considered.

Selection Panel
The Applied Academic Programmes Scholarships Committee provides the Rongotea & District Lions Club a shortlist of applicants. The grant is made by the University Scholarships Committee on the recommendation of the Rongotea & District Lions Club.
The selection panel has the right to refrain from making an award if there are no suitable applicants and its decision is final.

Conditions of the Grant
The grant may be held in conjunction with other scholarships, bursaries or awards, so long as those scholarships, bursaries or awards permit co-tenure.

Closing Date
10 March

Application cannot be accepted before 30/09/2020.
