Alongside my teaching role, I am the National Facilitator for the Learning Support Network https://www.lsn.nz/ - a MOE Network of Expertise for SENCos and Learning Support Coordinators across New Zealand. I am also a member of the Centre for Equity Through Education at Massey University. https://www.equitythrougheducation.nz/
Prior to taking up my position at Massey University, I was a SENCo and Deputy Principal and then a Resource Teacher: Learning and Behaviour. I currently teach in the areas of inclusive education and am the Complex Educational Needs Endorsement Coordinator on the Post Graduate Specialist Teaching Programme. I also co-teach and supervise students completing a Masters of Specialist Teaching.
My research interests include: supporting learners with disabilities (particularly complex needs) to have equal access and equal opportunities for success within their educational environment.
