Note(s): 2020: Design and Free ExpressionThis studio course will require students to explore the ramifications of the objects, content or interactions that they propose and produce upon other, active participants in society. From a citizen’s access of information, to the technologies that enable and restrict privacy, students will create their own understanding of free expression within historical context and contemporary society, at home and internationally.Students will then speculate to create products and expressions of our civil and creative environments: exploring the impact of the design that they create and its influence on how the members of a community may express, interact and engage with each other.Appropriate prior study: Design major studio at 200 level (198.258 or 212.258 or 221.258 or 222.258 or 223.258 or 224.258)
