Find New Zealand public and private company information by searching widely in a range of resources listed below - note what companies say about themselves in the media, and what analysts say about companies.
New Zealand private and small companies are difficult to find out about - use news sources to gather as much information as you can.
Each year Deloitte ranks the top 200 New Zealand companies, and holds an awards ceremony. The Deloitte Top 200 website includes the winners, judges, and criteria, plus the full lists in Dynamic Business, and the Top 200 data analytics dashboard. Find pre-2014 lists in the December issues of New Zealand Management magazine. Follow a link to one of the online versions, choose a year, and navigate to the December issue.
NZX Company Research Annual Reports
Includes selected companies only. NZX Annual Reports Service - select Listed or Delisted companies to view a list of reports available.
Check company websites. Note: Private companies are not required to make annual reports public so this information can be very difficult to locate.
New Zealand Companies Office
Contact information and details of directors and shareholders. Locate manufacturers or suppliers. Search categories include companies and business types.
Limit search results to company name and New Zealand. Provides brief company profiles including employee numbers, product lists, names of executives and contact details. NZX Company Research
Includes selected companies only. Financial data will appear in the left sidebar of the company's summary screen.
Financial data and analysis for selected New Zealand companies. Use the Companies/Markets tab, select Company, then enter the company name.
Search by company or brand name.
Use the Companies/Markets tab, then click on Company, then search for your company. If your company is on Factiva, look for the peer comparison data link on the left hand side of the screen - comparing the company to competitors.
Check company websites (look for sections labelled About, or media or press releases), and news sources (e.g. Factiva, Newztext) for comments about market share.

Search for a product category or specific brand.
Check Yellow Pages and company websites for product information. News sources (e.g. Factiva, Newztext) can also include articles based on press releases for new products.
